Congratulations to the College of the Rockies Tourism Students from Cranbrook, the Legacy Training Centre at RED Mountain Resort in Rossland and Northern BC Tourism Association.
Tourism & Recreation Management students from the Cranbrook Campus won the LinksBC Student Case Competition in Vancouver on October 20. The competition is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their research, presentation and problem-solving skills by answering challenging case questions from a panel of industry leaders. The Legacy Training Centre in Rossland at RED Mountain Resort was recently recognized as the BC Alpine ‘Resort of the Year’. This annual award is given to BC resorts that have gone above and beyond to support, promote and enhance the sport of alpine ski racing in the province. (Full Story)
And finally, a kudos to our Regional DMO colleague in Northern BC for being a recipient of one of the BC Innovation Awards presented at the TIABC Tourism Awards gala event on October 20. Northern BC Tourism Association (NBCTA) was recognized for the design and activation of NBCTA Plaza at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, BC. The Plaza saw more than 20,000 visitors from across Canada over a two-week period and brought together a team of 18 communities and two regional districts. (Full Story)
