Job Description:
Revelstoke is a year-round adventure destination located in the Monashee and Columbia Mountain ranges of British Columbia on the Trans Canada Highway #1.
Revelstoke Accommodation Association is seeking a new Marketing Manager for the Community Destination Marketing Organization (DMO). To continue the positive reputation Revelstoke already has in the tourism industry, the incumbent will have strong organizational skills with a flair for creative, innovative and collaborative marketing initiatives.
The Revelstoke Accommodation Association is the key DMO for the City of Revelstoke currently consisting of 20 hotels, motels, resorts, lodges, inns and hostels. The RAA also works in conjunction with the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce, City of Revelstoke Community Economic Development, various clubs, societies and organizations as well as private business stakeholders.
The incumbent must be results oriented, organized and able to multi-task on a constant basis. The ability to work with the community is essential and knowledge of the tourism industry is required.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience from a destination marketing organization, hospitality or related field of experience at a managerial or executive level with an eye for fiscal responsibility. Knowledge of the Municipal Regional District Tax (MRDT) and community DMO experience is preferred. The candidate will have experience relating to various levels of government, familiar with Destination BC. Grant and contract writing, events experience and industry advocacy are preferred.
