Spring is one of the busiest times in our Media Relations department with most of the marketplaces and events falling between April and June. Our Regional Media Relations Specialist, Heidi Korven, attended Canada Media Marketplace in San Francisco on April 18 & 19. Through a series of pre-scheduled appointments with key US journalists and press, Heidi presented story ideas, new product information as well as continued to build awareness of our region to the US media.
Over the next two months Heidi will be attending BC themed media dinners, coordinated by Destination BC, in our target markets of Calgary, Vancouver and Seattle.
In an effort to connect with more travel writers, Kootenay Rockies Tourism has joined the Travel Media Association of Canada. This is another important step to have our region noticed by more influential writers.
